My name is Vern. Pro Check Home Inspection was founded in 2021 after my 20-year career as a Respiratory Therapist. While working at a small rural hospital in N.E. Georgia, I got the idea to start a Mold and Radon testing business.

I had previously worked for a large hospital system in metro Atlanta. During my time at the rural hospital, I noticed a high number of lung cancer cases compared to the larger hospital system. While smoking is widely known as the leading cause of lung cancer, not many people know that radon is the second leading cause. Through my research, I discovered that North Georgia has the highest concentration of elevated radon test results compared to South Georgia.

As a Respiratory Therapist, I frequently encountered patients, especially children, who showed symptoms of wheezing and shortness of breath due to mold exposure. After consulting with allergists and conducting mold testing in their homes, we sometimes found high levels of toxic mold spores. This inspired me to provide mold and radon testing services to homeowners, alerting them to above-average levels of these contaminants in their homes.

During the process of developing my business plan, I became interested in home inspections and enjoyed learning about the various systems within a home and how they function as a unified unit, much like the human body. Striving for excellence, I received training from a top home inspector in Georgia and gained extensive knowledge of different home systems. I am certified and insured by InterNACHI (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors) and utilize state-of-the-art testing equipment.
